v. to maintain or assert (an opinion)
The president contends that the US government will not negotiate with terrorists.

- Pinnacle
n. highest level or degree
Many believe that composers such as Beethoven and Mozart represent the pinnacle of classical music.

- Civic
adj. relating to the city or citizens
Voting is a civic duty.
